One of the main focuses of river basin district-wide coordination of objectives and measures for Water Framework Directive implementation is to improve ecological continuity in the Weser river basin district. During phase II of the Pilot River Basins the Weser PRB introduced a river basin wide strategy as well as a regional concept in the Fulda/Diemel sub catchment to improve river continuity in the Weser River Basin. Water body continuity is also a major focus of various pilot projects in the regional states.
