Water quality in the Weser catchment
  The Weser river and its catchment

Since 1979, in the Weser river basin district the water quality has been analyzed with a monitoring programme that has evolved over the years according to the latest requirements. This monitoring programme is concentrating on the main river Weser, its two headwaters and the main tributary river, the Aller. At 9 monitoring stations, which are representative for their river stretch, physical parameter are measured continuously and quasi continuously 14-days-mixed samples are analyzed. Over the years long data sequences have resulted which facilitate an assessment of the measured parameter with respect to their chronological development.

Main focus of the RBC Weser is not only on the Weser and its headwaters, but also more intensive in the entire river basin. Therefore, selected parameter at almost 100 sample stations were analyzed and presented according to the spirit of the EU-Water Framework Directive.
