Weser water quality monitoring program
  Water quality

(known prior to 2002 as the ARGE Weser Messprogramm (ARGE Weser monitoring program))

Since 1979, the Weser river basin district has been analyzing the properties of water in the Weser, Werra and Fulda rivers within the framework of the Weser monitoring program, which has dynamically evolved over the years.

For the first time in 2010 to 2015 the Weser water quality monitoring program has been developed for a period of 5 years. Before it was established yearly. It is based on the results of the Weser water quality monitoring program of the last years but also adapted to the demands of the EU-WFD.

The four monitoring stations in the basic monitoring network consist of a monitoring station from each regional state (with the exception of Thuringia), and also have the capacity to monitor water quality in the Aller. The five auxiliary monitoring stations provide adjunct data for the monitoring program's basic measurements and do not measure the gamut of its parameters. Nearly 100 stations of the area monitoring network are distributed across the entire Weser catchment area.
